Born and raised in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, I am the oldest of five children. I loved growing up in a small town. The slower pace of life and constantly being around my family and friends was a very grounding and comforting experience growing up. I could never sit still and watch tv. I was always with my dad or grandparents “tinkering,” usually in the barn or the field.
At a young age, I was drawn to the ability of dentistry to heal patients not only physically but emotionally as well. That emotion comes from my first dentist, Dr. Pierre Daboval, in Jennings. He was one of the kindest individuals I have ever met. It wasn’t even the technical aspect as a dentist that fascinated me (that came later). It was more him as a person and how he interacted with patients that impressed me the most. One of my goals when becoming a dentist was to emulate him. The other goal was to make people feel happy and comfortable; however, we had to do it.
I’m a graduate of McNeese State University with a BS in Biological Sciences and later furthered my education at LSU School of Dentistry, receiving a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in school, I loved volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul's Ozanam Inn homeless shelter, where I was able to work with my mentors and care for those under severed.
While in school, I always looked forward to returning to a small town and practicing comprehensive and compassionate dentistry for all.
I’m a member of the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, and American Academy of General Dentistry. I try to complete countless hours of continuing education per year in restorative and implant dentistry. It allows me to push myself and my team by becoming a better leader and providing better care for my patients. Additionally, I’m a member of the Calcasieu parish Study club and synergy study club in Lafayette. Being a member of the study clubs allows camaraderie with other dentists and specialists. It helps foster greater care for patients by making me as a dentist stronger.
An avid runner, I am usually outdoors with my farm animals or garden. And when I’m not, I can be found either cooking (with my fresh produce), working out, or spending time with my family and friends. Dislikes: I hate being the center of attention and put on the spot. I’m very reserved.
